Betat communities are organized around specific types of human knowledge. A scientific community verifies field observations. An oral history community verifies spoken testimony. A creative community verifies works of human imagination. Each community decides its own standards, within the Betat protocol floor.
If your knowledge belongs somewhere, there is — or will be — a community for it.

That means the opportunity to start the first one is open. A community started now becomes the founding record-keeper for its field — the community that future Provenanciers and readers find first.

What makes a Betat community
Every Betat community:
- Verifies exactly one type of human-originated content
- Sets its own authentication standards, above the Betat baseline
- Issues provenance records that anyone can read, free, forever
- Is permanently identified by a domain it controls
- Cannot weaken its own standards once set — only strengthen them
A community’s records are permanent. The HI tag, once issued, is part of the record forever. This is why community identity and standards matter: they are the trust behind every record the community issues.
